President of Uzbekistan meets with the President of Kyrgyzstan

On September 15, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, who is in Uzbekistan on a working visit to attend the SCO Summit.

The President of Kyrgyzstan, expressing gratitude to the Leader of Uzbekistan for the traditionally warm hospitality, noted the large-scale construction and landscaping activities in Samarkand.

The Presidents noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of fruitful interaction between the two countries, based on the principles of strategic partnership. The volume of mutual trade is growing dynamically, which has increased by 30 percent since the beginning of the year.

Cooperation projects are being implemented in industry, energy, agriculture, water management and transport. Interregional and cultural-humanitarian exchanges are expanding.

The main attention was paid to the importance of launching the construction of the China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan railway and the Kambarata HPP-1, which will contribute to the development of the entire Central Asian region.

Views were exchanged on the schedule of the upcoming contacts at the highest level, as well as the current issues of regional and international politics.
