President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the Samarkand region today, got acquainted with the construction of the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during the trip to Samarkand region in 2019, the President of Uzbekistan noted the need for expanding Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex
“This place should correspond to the scientific heritage of Imam Bukhari, his high authority in the Islamic world. The complex is the epicenter of the pilgrimage tourism in the country. There should be convenient conditions for all pilgrims, regardless of their number”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted at the time.
A new project of the complex was developed. It was presented to the President several times and developed. The world experience was also studied.
Construction activities have started on these days of the holy month of Ramadan. In this regard, a meeting was held with representatives of the older generation and the intelligentsia.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated all Muslims and all the people of Uzbekistan on the beginning of the month of Ramadan.
“Ramadan is a holy month when good intentions are fulfilled. Starting the construction of the complex this month, we believe that it will give us good hope and comfort. The goal of our efforts in this direction is to express through science our commitment to Islam and respect for our scholars. It is our great duty to be worthy of our ancestors”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.
It was noted that last Ramadan, believers held religious services at home due to the pandemic. And this year, the mosques are open, where Muslims perform prayers in compliance with the quarantine rules. Support is provided to the elderly, people with disabilities and low-income families. It was noted that such care is especially important in the current difficult situation, when the whole world is experiencing a severe crisis.
“Our sacred religion teaches us to be human, to live, appreciating peace and tranquility, to show compassion. With this understanding and vision, we can strengthen peace, friendship and harmony in every family and mahalla, in our entire society. I repeat, if there are peace and health, everything else will come”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
Measures that are taken to increase jobs, improve people’s wellbeing and living conditions were also discussed.
“We have gained a lot of experience over the course of four years of searching, transforming, and testing. Our work to achieve the satisfaction of the people will be consistently continued. The noble ideas and sacred rites of Ramadan will become a solid foundation for the realization of these good goals”, the President said.
Holy Quran verses were recited.
The Head of the state became acquainted with the activities carried out in the complex.
It is planned to build a large mosque with four symmetrical minarets, terraces, and a wide alley leading to the complex. Modern facilities – 7 hotels, 3 parking lots and a bus station, a supermarket and a market will be created to serve a large number of pilgrims. Restaurants, a handicraft shop, a bathhouse, ablution rooms will also be commissioned here.
As is known, in 2019, at the initiative of the President, Imam Bukhari International Research Center and Hadith Scientific School were established here. The complex under construction, together with these institutions, forms a single large ensemble that can meet all the needs of pilgrims.
