President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Kazakhstan this week

Deputy Head of the Administration of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov held a briefing for journalists.

Mr. Asadov informed about the activities of the Head of the state over the past week.

The Head of the state paid an official visit to Hungary on 3-4 October.

The President held talks with the President of Hungary Katalin Novák and Prime Minister Viktor Orban, in Budapest.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached on opening a diplomatic mission of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Budapest.

During the visit, the President of Uzbekistan met with the heads of leading companies and banks of Hungary in Budapest.

The official visit to Hungary was very productive and fruitful. A Joint Statement and 14 documents were signed to develop the strategic partnership.

On October 6, President visited Syrdarya region to get acquainted with the activities of manufacturing enterprises developing in the agricultural sector and rural areas.

On October 7, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Russia’s Saint Petersburg to attend the Informal Summit of the Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Important aspects of multilateral cooperation and regional interaction were discussed at the event. Current issues were considered in the context of preparations for the next meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS Member States, to be held this week in Astana.

The President of Uzbekistan had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on October 5.

The President of Uzbekistan congratulated the Leader of Tajikistan on his 70th birthday.

At the briefing, journalists were informed about important events expected this week with the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Several events, meetings and visits on domestic and foreign political issues are included in the working schedule of the Head of the state.

On October 11, the Head of the state will receive the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. It is planned to discuss issues of developing interregional cooperation with new content and specific projects, and further acceleration of the ongoing joint programs.

On 12-14 October, the President will visit the Republic of Kazakhstan to attend the Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, the next meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS Member States, and the “Central Asia – Russia” Summit.

The agenda of the visit includes meetings with the Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vo Thi Anh Xuan, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shahbaz Shareef, and heads of several international organizations.

During the week, the President is expected to chair several meetings on the economic and social development of the country.
