On May 28, 2020, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on urgent measures to support the tourism sector for reducing the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the document, starting June 1, 2020 in “green” and “yellow” regions, domestic tourism will be resumed with the start of activities of related organizations (tour operators, travel agencies, accommodation facilities, objects of culture, cultural heritage and others) with strict observance of established sanitary and hygienic norms and requirements.
Inbound tourism will be gradually resumed with the definition of a list of countries the citizens of which are allowed to enter the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Income tax rates are reduced by 50 percent of the established rates for tour operators, travel agents, as well as accommodation facilities from June 1 to December 31, 2020.
The accrual and payment of tourist (hotel) tax is suspended until January 1, 2021.
