President Uzbekistan to attend online session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council

Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in the videoconference summit of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), invited by the President of Belarus – Chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (top body of the EAEU) Alexander Lukashenko, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The meeting will be attended by leaders of EAEU member states – Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia, as well as of Moldova (observer nation), and Cuba (invited country).

One of the key issues on the agenda is granting the Republic of Uzbekistan the status of observer state in the organization.

In his speech, the head of our state is expected to outline priority areas of mutually advantageous cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EAEU.

Earlier this year, in May, the Oliy Majlis approved our country’s participation in the activities of the Eurasian Economic Union as an observer nation.
