Today, a briefing of the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at the National Press Centre, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov informed media representatives about the events held with the participation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the important meetings expected to be held this week.
Last week the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on preparations for the upcoming Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games. A videoconference dedicated to improving the system of foreign languages teaching was held. President of Uzbekistan held telephone conversations with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the first President of Kazakhstan, Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev. On May 9, celebrations were held in Victory Park in honor of the Day of Memory and Honour.
At the briefing, the journalists were provided with information not included in the press releases, opinions about these events. The following opinions were expressed about the videoconference on improving the system of teaching foreign languages.
“Why was this issue considered at the level of the head of state? The answer is obvious – the knowledge of foreign languages by young people pushes forward the development in all spheres. Currently, enterprises, organizations, universities, clinics are being opened in cooperation with developed countries, and advanced technologies are being introduced. Who will manage them, who will use these technologies? Of course, for all this, knowledge of a foreign language is crucial, as life itself requires it. Should you look at the developed countries, majority of young people are fluent in foreign languages, even several ones. The shortcomings that exist in our country in this direction are felt in all spheres. Without proper attention to this issue, we risk falling behind the world’s progress”, Shersod Asadov said.
It was emphasized that what was not included in the press releases about telephone conversations with the leaders of Russia and Kazakhstan is their spirit and mood.
The festive events held in Victory Park timed to the Day of Memory and Honour have become a manifestation of worthy respect to the memory of our ancestors and great attention to the war veterans and home front workers.
“First of all, it should be noted that the Victory Park memorial complex, created at the initiative of our President, is gaining recognition. It is becoming a sacred place that glorifies the courage of our ancestors and serves to educate the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism”, says Presidential Press Secretary.
This week it is planned to hold presentations on further enhancement of public services, digitalization in the healthcare sector and projects implemented based on public-private partnerships, as well as a videoconference on ensuring economic growth in regions and industries.
As for the international event’s agenda, the contacts of the Head of the state with the leader of Japan, as well as with the leaders of the countries of the region are scheduled for this week.
