On May 4, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
Heads of state discussed current issues of further strengthening friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership.
The close cooperation of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan governments in combating the coronavirus pandemic was noted with satisfaction. The Presidents supported the measures taken in the countries to minimize the negative consequences of the spread of this disease, primarily for development of trade and economic ties.
The fruitful results of the multilateral consultations of health and transport ministers of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States in fulfillment of the decisions of the recent extraordinary summit were highly appreciated.
Presidents also considered issues related to the elimination in Uzbekistan of the emergency consequences on Sardoba Reservoir.
Agreements have been reached to continue active joint efforts aimed at maintaining high dynamics of bilateral trade, enhancing cooperation in various sectors of the economy, promoting priority investment and infrastructure projects, including those regionwide.
A number of issues on the international agenda were also considered.
