Presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan talk over the phone

On December 30, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

The leaders of the two countries exchanged congratulations on the upcoming New Year.

It was noted that this year will go down in the history of bilateral relations as a period of further development and strengthening of centuries-old friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership.

Cooperation is expanding between governments, parliaments and regions, including between Tashkent and Dushanbe. Significant growth in mutual trade is observed, cooperation projects are being implemented in economic sectors, cultural and humanitarian ties are deepening.

Views were exchanged on pressing issues of the international and regional agenda.

In this context, the importance of the results of the second Consultative meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, held in the capital of Uzbekistan in November this year, was emphasized.
