Prospects for development of comprehensive cooperation Uzbekistan – the American state of Nebraska discussed in Washington

On November 19, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Kamilov, and First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Sodiq Safoyev, have met with Republican Congressmen from Nebraska Don Bacon and Jeff Fortenberry, in Washington, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, Members of the U.S. House of Representatives from Nebraska were informed with the progress and results of comprehensive reforms in the country under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the investment and tourism potential of the country, as well as the prospects for development of comprehensive Uzbekistan – American cooperation, including increasing direct contacts between the country and the state of Nebraska.

Uzbekistan Caucus members in the American legislative body, Congressmen Don Bacon and Jeff Fortenberry, highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s foreign policy aimed at developing good-neighborly relations and deepening cooperation with the countries of the region and Afghanistan. According to the congressmen, the United States is ready to support Uzbekistan in the effective implementation of the planned reforms, primarily in strengthening the economy and improving the wellbeing of people.

The Congressmen expressed their readiness to work out the issue of organizing a visit to Uzbekistan in 2021 by the Governor Pete Ricketts and a group of Nebraska businesspeople. According to them, they also intend to personally accompany the head of Nebraska during his visit to the country.
