Yesterday, the sixth round of Uzbekistan – Israel political consultations has been held. It was attended by the delegations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Minister Furkat Sidikov and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, headed by Deputy Director General, Head of Eurasia and Western Balkans Division, Gary Koren, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The parties discussed issues on the bilateral agenda, including interaction within international and regional organizations.

An agreement was reached on the adoption of specific measures to build up trade, economic and investment cooperation.

In this context, proposals were considered for holding the first meeting of the bilateral Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, enhancing interaction between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce, implementing joint investment projects in textile, agricultural, pharmaceutical, medical, tourism and other areas.

It was emphasized that the development of inter-parliamentary relations occupies a special place on the bilateral agenda. The parties welcomed the first joint online meeting of the inter-parliamentary friendship groups of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the Knesset of Israel, which took place on October 22.

The parties noted the need for deepening cooperation between relevant ministries and agencies of the two countries in healthcare, agriculture and water management, innovation and technology.
