Within the framework of the visit to London, Uzbekistan delegation led by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodik Safoyev met with representatives of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) – Editor of the Strategic Survey edition Nigel Gould-Davies, Senior Fellow for Middle East Security Emile Hokayem and Associate Fellow for South Asia Roger Kangas.
At the meeting, the foreign policy priorities of Uzbekistan, issues of strengthening regional cooperation in Central Asia, as well as the development of the situation in Afghanistan in the context of its impact on regional and international security were discussed.
IISS representatives expressed interest in developing cooperation with analytical centers of Uzbekistan, in particular, the implementation of joint research projects, holding scientific workshops and conferences.
