Samarkand hosts a roundtable discussion on the OSCE Ljubljana Recommendations

Samarkand hosted a roundtable discussion on “Ljubljana Recommendations for the integration of diverse societies and Uzbekistan’s policy in interethnic harmony”.

The event was organized by the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan and the Office of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities.

As noted by the First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Director of the National Center for Human Rights Akmal Saidov, Uzbekistan closely cooperates with the OSCE and its structures in matters of interethnic harmony and religious tolerance, as well as in other areas.

The role of civil society institutions in the implementation of reforms, the importance of public opinion in assessing their effectiveness, the components of the regulatory framework for integration principles and policies, the best practices of some countries in this direction, priority features and difficulties in the integration process were discussed at the event.
