SAMARKAND TO HOST ASIAN CONFERENCE OF THE VALDAI DISCUSSION CLUB

On November 10-11, 2019, Samarkand will host the annual Asian Conference of the Valdai Discussion Club. The conference is held for the tenth time and over the years it has become an important platform for expert discussions on regional problems and common global challenges.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Central Asia and Eurasia: Multilateral Cooperation Facing Challenges of Global Disorder”.

Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, specializing in international politics, economy and security, is the partner of this year’s Asian Conference.

More than 70 experts from 11 countries, in particular from Uzbekistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, India, Tajikistan, Germany, Philippines, Japan, Sweden will attend the conference in Samarkand.

Pressing problems of the region will be considered at the conference, taking into account the large-scale changes in the world arena. Special attention will also be paid to discussion of prospects and approaches to Asia’s future.

The future of bilateral dialogue between Uzbekistan and Russia is the subject of a separate session. The state of bilateral relations, as well as search for new forms and directions of cooperation between the two countries will be discussed.
