SCO experts discuss prospects for transport and transit cooperation

A meeting of the Special Working Group on development of the transit potential of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has been held under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan.

It was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Transport on behalf of the Uzbek side.

Experts from eight SCO member states discussed about 10 issues related to deepening cooperation in transport and transit, strengthening its normative-legal framework, organizing the launch of multimodal transport corridors and others.

One of the main items on the agenda of the meeting was the discussion of the draft Framework Agreement between the governments of the SCO member states on formation and functioning of an integrated transport management system.
