Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva, has received the Ambassador of Italy, Agostino Pinna.
According to the upper house of Parliament, the parties exchanged views on the implementation of large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan, the state and prospects for development of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, including on the activation of inter-parliamentary ties.
The Ambassador welcomed the country’s achievements in socio-economic development. “We fully support the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan”, he said.
According to the Italian diplomat, Uzbekistan’s open policy makes it one of the most important partners of Italy.
It was noted that warm relations have been established between the countries, cooperation in the political sphere is strengthening. Uzbekistan and Italy closely interact within the framework of international organizations.
Special attention was paid to further development of inter-parliamentary ties.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue work on strengthening multifaceted collaboration.
