Yesterday, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan organized a training workshop for the heads of diplomatic missions abroad, on priority areas of socio-political and socio-economic reforms in Uzbekistan, increasing the role of parliament in the transformation of the country, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to the upper house of the national parliament, the main goal of the training workshop was to deepen practical knowledge about the course of reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, improve the forms and methods of bringing objective information about the transformations taking place in the country to the foreign public.
Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate Sodik Safoyev, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Judicial Issues and Combating Corruption Nariman Umarov, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Development of the Aral Sea Region Boriy Alikhanov and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms Erkin Gadoyev delivered speeches at the event.
The participants discussed the implementation of the program of measures for the development of the social sphere, issues of combating corruption, as well as the specifics of the state budget for 2021 and new approaches to the formation and execution of local budgets. Special attention was paid to the priority tasks for the implementation of the initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan forwarded at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly and other current issues of foreign policy.
The issues of development of the Aral Sea region, the attraction of foreign investments, and advanced technologies to the region were considered.
The mechanisms of interaction of diplomatic missions with the chambers of the Oliy Majlis, the possibility of using the tools of parliamentary diplomacy to promote the national interests of Uzbekistan were discussed.
