Senate of the Oliy Majlis and OSCE Parliamentary Assembly strengthen cooperation

Uzbekistan delegation led by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva met with the OSCE PA Vice-President Pia Kauma.

The parties exchanged views on the state and prospects of interaction, expanding contacts within the OSCE PA, as well as deepening partnership with the Parliamentary Assembly in the field of legislative process excellence and studying international best practices in parliamentary control.

Pia Kauma highly appreciated and supported the ongoing democratic transformations and socio-economic reforms in Uzbekistan, as well as the dynamically developing relations between the Oliy Majlis and the OSCE PA.

She also praised the outcome of the “Mehr” humanitarian operations to return women and children from the war zone in the Middle East.
