Senators approved the introduction of a procedure for stopping vehicles in case of violation of epidemic rules

During the Eighth Plenary Session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the senators today approved the law "On Amendments and Additions to the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility", reports IA “Dunyo” correspondent citing the press service of the Upper House of Parliament.

According to the amendments, the authority to impose administrative punishment for administrative offences related to violation of the rules for combating epidemics, after signing by the head of state, can be transferred to the Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Service and the internal affairs bodies.

The document also provides for the transfer of the authority to impose administrative penalties for committing such an administrative offence as throwing garbage or other items from vehicles to employees of the prevention of offences of the internal affairs bodies and employees of the road safety service.

Besides, it is envisaged to increase the responsibility of vehicle drivers, reduce the excessive workload of the centres of sanitary and epidemiological control.

Senators approved the law. Taking into account the entry into force of the Law from the date of its publication, the responsible authorities were instructed to carry out extensive propaganda work, develop and introduce the necessary mechanisms for its full application.
