SHAVKAT MIRZIYOYEV VISITS AN INDUSTRIAL COMPANY IN TASHKENT

The project of the Orient Ceramics enterprise was presented to the head of our state in 2017 during his trip to the Chilanzar district of the capital.

Over the past time, a modern building was built on an unused land plot, outfitted with imported equipment for the production of ceramic goods. The total cost of the enterprise that was launched earlier in July is 14 million US dollars; it is capable of manufacturing 3.6 million square meters of ceramic products a year.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the technological process at the company, examined product samples. The goods are almost entirely made from local raw materials, and therefore much cheaper than foreign counterparts. One third of the output is delivered to Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan. Exports during July-August alone amounted to 500 thousand dollars. Currently, the company employs 270 workers and specialists.

The head of state was briefed about a project that Orient Ceramics LLC intends to implement in 2020-2021. Thus, it plans to establish the production of currently imported porcelain tiles.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the need to organize small enterprises in each region on the basis of the experience of this company, to allocate logistically convenient sites for production, to set up clusters for the production of ceramic goods, and boost production volumes and exports.

The President also was presented information on projects planned for implementation in Tashkent in industrial production and the services sector.
