Shavkat Mirziyoyev visits Mercy House in Tashkent

On 28 July, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Mercy House No. 21 in the city of Tashkent.

122 children, including 47 orphans and 75 social orphans, are brought up in this institution. Qualified educators, psychologists, speech therapists, speech-language pathologists work in the orphanage. There are centers of robotics, mental arithmetic, hairdressing, cooking and sewing. Here, children attend sports sections and won national and international competitions.
The Head of the state got acquainted with conditions created here and attended children’s training.

“We came here to meet with you and improve conditions for all children, to create an educational environment as close to the family as possible. We will create opportunities for you so that you could get an education on an equal basis with everyone else, study at universities, acquire a profession, get a home and a job, take a worthy place in life. Know that you have parents and a Homeland. The state will never leave you without attention”, the President said.
Exemplary conditions are created at the mercy house. But individual work with children, their professional orientation is not established at the proper level. No agency would promote the first steps of adults in independent life, their higher education and employment.

In this regard, the Head of the state proposed to assign the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan to all mercy houses and special boarding schools.
“These institutions have a financial sponsor, now they need a spiritual patron. This is a good and necessary thing”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

There are 16 mercy houses and 4 children’s campuses in Uzbekistan. 1,823 boys and girls are brought up here. There are 21,363 children enrolled in 86 special boarding schools. It is determined that the National Guard will be responsible for the activities of these institutions as an experiment. It was instructed to create a methodology for specialized training and patriotic education of children. The importance of developing children’s abilities through the interaction of orphanages and special boarding schools with scientific, artistic and sports organizations was emphasized.
