SHERDOR IN THE UK

World Travel Market-2016, the second largest tourist exhibition in Europe, every year, has been a venue for virtually the entire spectrum of services in this area since 1980.

The services are offered at the fair by travel agencies, land, air and sea carriers, and representatives of the hospitality business around the world. This year around, the exposition has brought together more than 50 thousand professionals from 182 countries. Uzbekistan’s stand constituted a copy of the majestic madrassah Sherdor, one of the three jewels of the Registan Square in Samarkand. For three days the videowall brilliantly revealed the history and the present life of our country.

The participation in the exhibition resulted in numerous negotiations to discuss issues of tourism and infrastructure development in Uzbekistan, promote the attractive image in the international arena, as well as the prospects of the organization of thematic shows of our nation on British channels.

“Uzbekistan, with its glorious past, is an extraordinary and popular destination for tourists from the UK,” executive director of the Association of Independent British Travel Agents, Kate Kenward, has said. “Our association brings together some 120 British tour agencies who specialize in the organization of trips to countries with unique culture, rich history and exceptional nature. Together with our members we will continue to promote Uzbekistan in the UK market and send more tourists to your country.”
