Sodiq Safoyev meets with Japanese Ambassador

On January 10, 2021, the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodiq Safoyev met with Japanese Ambassador Yoshinori Fujiyama.

It was noted that in recent years Uzbekistan and Japan have achieved significant results in the development of bilateral and multifaceted mutually beneficial cooperation. The visit of the President of Uzbekistan to the Land of the Rising Sun in 2019 brought bilateral relations to a new stage of development.

The parties discussed the development of bilateral relations in trade, investment, economy, politics, education, culture, as well as inter-parliamentary relations.

The readiness to give a dynamic character to the interaction between the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the Parliament of Japan was expressed.

It was emphasized that bilateral relations were built on the principles of friendship, mutual respect and trust. And this year will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.

It was noted that in connection with this significant date, an inter-parliamentary conference will be held with the participation of parliamentarians, representatives of ministries and agencies of the two countries, as well as Japanese companies and representative offices operating in Uzbekistan.
