The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Spain, in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Malaga, organized a roundtable discussion on “Uzbekistan – Spain: New investment opportunities”, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
The event was attended by representatives of the business community of the Spanish province of Andalusia, including producers of olive oil, wine, canned fruits and vegetables, pyrite and copper ores, polymetallic ore mining companies, textile enterprises, and others.
The participants were informed about Uzbekistan’s economic potential, new opportunities for investment cooperation. In particular, promising projects in the coal industry, alternative energy, and winemaking were discussed.
Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Malaga Jerónimo Pérez Casero noted that a wide range of participants in the event testifies to the great interest of Spanish business circles in the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation with Uzbekistan.
According to him, Uzbekistan occupies a strategic position in the Asian region, connecting South Asia, Europe, and China. In this regard, the entry of Spanish companies into the Uzbek market opens up vast opportunities for entering the huge Asian market. He also emphasized the high level of macroeconomic indicators and the stable development of the economy of Uzbekistan.
In turn, the Uzbek side emphasized the interest in trade and economic cooperation, involving modern technologies and know-how, creating facilities for producing a wide range of finished export products with high added value.
Following the event, mutual interest was expressed in continuing business relations.
