Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan has met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan

On March 18, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev has met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Haneef Atmar, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister stressed the important role of Uzbekistan in the political settlement of the Afghan conflict, the country’s efforts in the implementation of infrastructure and economic projects in Afghanistan, in particular, the construction of Surkhan – Puli-Khumri power line and Mazar-i – Sharif – Kabul – Peshawar railway line.

It was noted that the leadership of Afghanistan focuses on the above-mentioned projects, which contribute to the recovery of the country’s economy, as well as to further development of regional connectivity.

The parties also exchanged views on the priority areas of cooperation in other sectors.
