Tashkent hosts a meeting of the Council of SCO National Coordinators

On January 25, a regular meeting of the Council of National Coordinators of the SCO member states kicked off in Tashkent under the chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming, Executive Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure Ruslan Mirzayev.

Representatives of the SCO member states exchanged views on preparations for future meetings of the Council of Heads of State of the organization and other statutory bodies.

The draft list of documents proposed for signing was discussed.

The decision to transfer the chairmanship of this prestigious organization to Uzbekistan for 2021-2022 was made at the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, in Dushanbe.

Then Chairman Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined the priority tasks that will be implemented within the framework of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship in the SCO.

During the chairmanship of Uzbekistan, it is planned to hold more than 80 events with partners to implement the tasks outlined by the Head of the state.

Within the framework of the current meeting, it is planned to familiarize the national coordinators with the achievements of Uzbekistan in information technology and the development of tourism potential.

The meeting of the Council of SCO National Coordinators will last until January 28.
