Tashkent hosts International Conference on enhancing the role of Mahalla Institute

Tashkent hosted an international scientific-practical conference on “The role of the mahalla institute as an important link of civil society in strengthening the family and social support of the population”, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The event was organized by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Ministry for Supporting Mahalla and Family, the Mahalla and Family Research Institute jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, the Academy of Public Administration, the Development Strategy Center, the “Yuksalish” Nationwide Movement.

The role of the mahalla institute in the implementation of the important principle “From a strong state to a strong civil society”, strengthening the family, preserving national and universal values, ensuring employment of the population were discussed at the event.

The conference was attended by representatives of UNFPA, UNICEF, OSCE, USAID, KOICA, diplomatic corps of Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, employees of higher education and research institutions of Uzbekistan, civil society institutions and media representatives.

Following the conference, taking into account international experience, proposals and recommendations were developed to enhance the role of the mahalla institute in strengthening the family and social support of the population.
