Tashkent hosts Uzbekistan – Bangladesh Business Forum

Uzbekistan – Bangladesh Business Forum has taken place in Tashkent.

According to Uzbekistan MIFT, the event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov, Adviser to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Salman Fazlur Rahman, heads of the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries, representatives of ministries, agencies and businesspeople of both states.

The parties discussed the mechanisms for deepening investment, trade and economic cooperation, as well as interaction to create favorable conditions for establishing a partnership between entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Bangladesh.

The heads of ministries, agencies and industry associations of the Uzbek side comprehensively revealed the investment and industrial potential in each direction. Prospects for the implementation of high-tech projects with the introduction of advanced experience and technologies of manufacturers in Bangladesh were discussed.

The parties noted the positive dynamics of the development of mutual trade. In 2020, the trade turnover increased by 13.5 percent compared to the previous year.

At B2B meetings, preliminary agreements have been reached on the implementation of several joint investment projects in the IT, textile and pharmaceutical industries of Uzbekistan. The completion of negotiations on the considered projects and the start of their implementation is expected by the end of this year.
