Termez hosts a meeting of Surkhandarya representatives with participation of khokims of the region and districts, heads of sectors, responsible officials of industries.
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan gave a critical assessment of the situation in the regions.
“The purpose and content of our policy is ordinary: whoever works, he receives a pleasant life. The state is obliged to create such conditions under which a person works freely. Acts are adopted, priorities are determined for this purpose. Nevertheless, few executives at the lower link are able to execute them. Have we created a khokim training school? There is no positive answer to this question. Leaders of spheres and industries are “numb”, the President said.
The Head of the state noted that the region’s growth rates still do not match its real potential.
“The reason for our third visit to the region for this year is to show all leaders, using the example of Surkhandarya, how to identify and fully use priority areas and growth points for the accelerated development of regions, taking into account their features and capabilities”, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
All ministers, heads of spheres and industries were instructed to prepare and submit to the regional khokimiyat concrete proposals for development of the region by the end of the year and next year.
