The 1050th Anniversary of Abu Rayhan Biruni's birth to be widely celebrated with the participation of UNESCO

The 1050th Anniversary of the great scientist and philosopher Abu Rayhan Biruni’s birth will be celebrated in 2022-2023 with the participation of UNESCO.

According to the Chairperson of the National Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for UNESCO, Aziz Abdukhakimov, the decision was made at the 211th session of the UNESCO Executive Board.

The proposal was developed at the initiative of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the support of Tajikistan, Iran and Turkey. This issue will be submitted for approval during the 41st session of the UNESCO General Conference in Paris, France, this November.
