The CEC implemented its mandate efficiently

A Press Conference by the OSCE/ODIHR, dedicated to the preliminary results of the referendum on amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place in Tashkent, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the Head of the OSCE/ODIHR mission Albert Jónsson, the Central Election Commission (CEC) implemented its mandate efficiently and met all legal deadlines.

Dwelling in more detail on the activities of the CEC and its district commissions in the process of holding a referendum, Albert Jónsson noted that voter information was widely available in various formats, contributing to transparency. Voters were given the opportunity to verify their voter registration data online as well as in-person at polling stations.

It was emphasized that significant efforts were made to increase the participation of persons with disabilities in the electoral process.

The training sessions observed by the ODIHR LROM were overall informative.
