Yesterday, Head of Uzbekistan Mission to the EU, Ambassador Dilyor Khakimov, has met with the Chair of the European Parliament Delegation for Central Asia and Mongolia, Fulvio Martusciello, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
The parties discussed the upcoming visit of the MEP to Uzbekistan from March 28 to April 1. It is planned to hold meetings at relevant ministries and agencies of the country.
Exchange of views took place on the current state and prospects of further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union.
The MEP highly appreciated the dynamic development of Uzbekistan – European relations. The progress achieved in the negotiations on GSP+ and the EPCA was emphasized. He expressed confidence that these processes will be completed as soon as possible, since this is in the interests of both parties. He also stressed the EU’s readiness to support Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed on joint events in Brussels, including a plan of contacts for the future.
