The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the heads of the representative offices of the UN structural organizations in Uzbekistan outlined further plans for the development of cooperation

Yesterday, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov

has met with the heads of the representative offices of the UN structural organizations in Uzbekistan – the World Health Organization, the UN Development Programme, the Food and Agriculture Organization, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the UN Population Fund, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, and the United Nations Children’s Fund, led by Resident Coordinator, Ambassador Helena Fraser, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The parties discussed the state and prospects of Uzbekistan’s interaction with the UN and its institutions. Further plans have been outlined to enhance and deepen cooperation within the framework of the agreements reached.

An agreement was reached to closely interact on the implementation of the new Cooperation Framework Programme between Uzbekistan and the UN.

The Uzbek side emphasized the support for all initiatives of the UN Secretary-General António Guterres, in particular, on reforming the system of the organization’s resident coordinators.
