Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko, accompanied by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva, attended the fourth meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Commission.
Implementation of the roadmap for development of bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation for 2019 and an action plan for 2020 was considered at the meeting. During the discussion, members of the Commission forwarded concrete proposals on enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation. It was noted that it is necessary to continue to organize forums in the regions of Uzbekistan and Russia, to promote increased participation in the second interregional forum in Russia.
In accordance with the Commission’s work schedule, the next meeting was decided to be held in the second half of 2020 in Russia.
Following the event, the Decisions of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission and the Plan of Practical Measures for Development of Bilateral Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation between the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2019-2020 were signed.
