President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who is in Saudi Arabia on his first foreign visit after being elected head of state, yesterday visited the main shrine of Islam - the city of Mecca, «Dunyo» IA correspondent reports.
According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, on July 19, the first day of the new month of Muharram, 1445 Hijri, the head of our state put on a special ihram attire and performed the rites of Umra. The leader of our country was given a great honor to enter the sacred Kaaba and read prayers in it.
In accordance with the canons of Islam, Shavkat Mirziyoyev made tawaf seven times, that is, a detour around the Kaaba, as well as seven walks between the hills of Safa and Marva. Prayers have been read for the sake of asking for the prosperity of our Motherland, peace and affluence for our people, happiness and a bright future for all our compatriots and the younger generation.
It should be noted that today was held the ceremony of changing the kiswa - the traditional coverlet of the Kaaba.
