The Leaders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan exchanged congratulations on Ramadan Hayit and discussed the preparations for the upcoming summit.

Yesterday, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Heads of state warmly congratulated each other and the fraternal peoples of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan on the Ramadan Hayit, sincerely wishing peace, prosperity and progress.

Current issues of further development of Uzbekistan – Tajikistan friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership were discussed.

The main attention was paid to the preparation of the upcoming summit. The main task of the next meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission, which will be held under the chairmanship of the Prime Ministers this week in the city of Tashkent, is the search for new growth points of mutually beneficial cooperation for the long term.

The leaders also discussed practical aspects of regional interaction. The parties noted with satisfaction the normalization of the situation on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border, which is an important factor in ensuring stability and security in Central Asia.
