The MIFT discussed the preparations for the Annual Meeting of the Islamic Development Bank in Uzbekistan

Today, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov met with Secretary General of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) Ghassan Al-Baba, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The parties discussed issues related to the preparation for the 46th Annual Meeting of the IsDB Board of Governors in Uzbekistan in 2021.

According to Uzbekistan MIFT, the IsDB Secretary General spoke about the current state of preparatory work, the progress of the Organizing Committee and specialized working groups consisting of representatives of the bank, as well as ministries and agencies from the Uzbek side.

The constructive dialogue allowed to consider key issues related to the organization of the meeting and develop algorithms for further interaction to achieve qualitative and timely implementation of the tasks.

It was announced that the bank’s management is currently considering the prospects for organizing the visit of IsDB President Bandar Hajjar to Uzbekistan in May this year to conduct a roadshow dedicated to the broad coverage of the upcoming meeting in international media.

The event is expected to be attended by about 2 thousand people – representatives of 57 member countries of the bank, international organizations and financial institutions, foreign businesspeople and the media.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for close cooperation to hold the meeting at a high organizational level.
