The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Chief Foreign Policy Adviser to the President of the European Council exchanged views on the schedule of the upcoming events in Uzbekistan – EU and EU – Central Asia formats

Yesterday, Uzbekistan delegation led by The Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Chief Foreign Policy Adviser to the President of the European Council, Simon Mordue, in Brussels, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, current issues of Uzbekistan – European cooperation in areas of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.

The importance of intensifying cooperation through the intensification of political dialogue, the development of inter-parliamentary contacts, speeding up the negotiation process on the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the EU, coordination of efforts in the field of security, as well as the expansion of interregional ties, was noted.

The parties exchanged views on the schedule of the upcoming events in Uzbekistan – EU and EU – Central Asia formats.

The main attention was paid to the current situation in Afghanistan and its impact on regional security. A common opinion was expressed on the need to consolidate the efforts of the international community to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.
