The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and EU Special Representative for Central Asia discussed the issues of regional and international security, taking into account the current situation in Afghanistan

Yesterday, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov received the EU Special Representative for Central Asia Terhi Hakala, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the current state and prospects of relations between Uzbekistan and the European Union in the political, trade-economic and investment spheres, in the field of education and scientific research, were discussed. The parties also exchanged views on the schedule and agenda of the upcoming bilateral and interregional events at various levels.

The main attention was paid to the issues of regional and international security, taking into account the current situation in Afghanistan. Ambassador Terhi Hakala expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side for the possible assistance provided in the process of evacuation of EU citizens and those involved from Afghanistan.
