The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan meets with EU High Representative in Brussels

On November 16, Uzbekistan delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission Josep Borrell, in Brussels, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, current issues of Uzbekistan – European cooperation, which in recent years has shown positive dynamics and is filled with practical content, were discussed.

The course of implementation of joint programs and prospects for the implementation of new projects in areas of mutual interest were considered.

The importance of the early completion of negotiations on the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, as well as the effective use of the GSP+ mechanism in trade between Uzbekistan and the EU, was noted.

An agreement was reached on thorough and high-quality preparations for the upcoming bilateral and multilateral events, including the meeting of the Parliamentary Cooperation Committee “Uzbekistan – EU”, the Ministerial Meeting “European Union – Central Asia”, the Forum “EU – Central Asia” on tourism and others.

Views were exchanged on the current situation in Afghanistan.
