The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan meets with the Ambassador of Latvia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov received the Ambassador of Latvia Reinis Trokša, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the parties discussed current issues of relations between Uzbekistan and Latvia. Views were exchanged on practical aspects of the implementation of previously reached agreements.

The sides also discussed the issues of intensifying economic diplomacy. The Latvian side confirmed its readiness to participate in joint projects in the standardization and certification, which play a very important role in increasing the export of Uzbekistan products to the EU countries.

The need for the early signing of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the European Union, initialed on July 6 this year, was noted.

An agreement was reached to continue close interaction on the implementation of projects in administrative reform and the fight against corruption with the involvement of European partners and government agencies of Uzbekistan.

The parties exchanged views on the schedule of the upcoming events in 2023, the expansion of cultural, humanitarian and educational ties.
