The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan met with the United States Deputy Secretary of State

Yesterday, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the United States Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, current issues of Uzbekistan – American agenda were discussed at the meeting.

Uzbekistan’s FM gave detailed information about the large-scale reforms carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in all spheres of society.

The representative of the State Department noted that the American side supports broad transformations carried out in Uzbekistan.

Views on the situation in the region and Afghanistan were exchanged. The parties noted the need for promoting the process of broad national reconciliation and the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan, ensuring respect for fundamental human rights and freedoms in the country, and preventing a humanitarian crisis.

The main attention was paid to the development of trade-economic and investment cooperation.

The schedule and organizational aspects of the upcoming joint events, in particular the first meeting of the Strategic Partnership Dialogue, were considered.

Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Viktor Makhmudov and Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ruslan Davletov took part in the negotiations.
