The National Leader of the Turkmen People has been awarded the “Highest Degree of Friendship” Order

Following the bilateral talks, a solemn ceremony was held to present the highest state award of the Republic of Uzbekistan – the “Highest Degree of Friendship” Order (“Oliy Darajali Do‘stlik”) – to the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

While presenting the award, the President of Uzbekistan emphasized Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s significant contributions to strengthening the traditional ties of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership between the two brotherly nations.

“All the remarkable achievements, large-scale reforms, and the growing international stature of fraternal Turkmenistan are inextricably linked with your name”, the President of Uzbekistan stated.

Turkmenistan is demonstrating steady economic growth and a continuous improvement in the well-being of its population. The President of Uzbekistan particularly highlighted the international initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, aimed at promoting global security and sustainable development.

In this context, it was noted that Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s proposal to declare 2025 the Year of Peace and Trust has received broad international support.

It was emphasized that, thanks to the Turkmen Leader’s efforts, relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan have reached the highest level and have become a true model of exemplary bilateral cooperation.

“Thanks to your support, the solid foundations of our countries’ strategic partnership were laid in 2017”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.

The active engagement at all levels – parliaments, governments, regions, business circles, civil society, intellectuals, and youth – was noted with satisfaction, along with the successful implementation of trade and economic cooperation programs and projects. In recent years alone, mutual trade has increased severalfold, surpassing the $1 billion mark.

Cultural and humanitarian cooperation was highly praised. In this context, particular mention was made of last year’s presentations in Ashgabat and Tashkent of a collection of works by Magtymguly in the Uzbek language, as well as the premiere of a joint Uzbek-Turkmen feature film at the international film festival in Ashgabat.

It was emphasized that awarding the highest state award of the Republic of Uzbekistan serves as a sincere expression of the Uzbek people’s deep respect for Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as an outstanding statesman, National Leader, and the architect of modern Turkmenistan.
