The National Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Human Rights is put for public discussion

TASHKENT, January 29. /“Dunyo” IA/. The draft resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “Adoption of the National Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Human Rights” is published for public discussion, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The draft was prepared by the National Centre for Human Rights based on the tasks set out in the Address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Parliament on January 24, 2020.

As stated by the Press service of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, around 200 suggestions and comments from more than 50 government agencies and civil society institutions were taken into account during the preparation of this document.

According to the project, the National Human Rights Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Roadmap for its implementation will be approved.

The purpose of adoption of the National Strategy is to define the main tasks and directions of state policy on ensuring human rights and freedoms in Uzbekistan as an important and necessary condition for improving living standards and welfare, competitiveness of the state on the world arena, its sustainable development and democratic renewal.

The draft strategy is available on the portal of discussion of draft laws and regulations of the Republic of Uzbekistan: regulation.gov.uz.
