President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Ugam River Tourist Complex, which is being built in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region.

Previously, the area along the Ugam River was rocky and was not fully utilized. As part of the project worth more than 1 trillion UZS, construction work has begun on an area of about 14 hectares. Currently, 17 apartment buildings with 5, 6, and 7 floors are being built, and there will be 870 apartments.

Also, it is planned to build 16 cottages, 3 restaurants, and more than 20 retail and service points on the territory of the complex. Children’s playgrounds, an indoor pool, fitness and sports grounds, an amphitheater, parking, and walking paths in the mountains and along the coast will be equipped.

Thanks to this, the new complex will receive up to 200,000 visitors annually, significantly increasing the region’s tourism potential.

In the first stage, all apartment buildings envisaged by the project will be commissioned early next year.

The Head of state got acquainted with one of the apartments.

Tourists are attracted by beautiful nature and clean air. Taking this into account, 20,000 trees will be planted on the territory of the existing forest. Using modern technologies, 1,000 cubic meters of river water will be processed daily. A heating and cooling system with a capacity of 2 megawatts will also be put into operation.

The President instructed the industry’s responsible persons on promoting this resort and involving tourists.

Thanks to tourism projects, more jobs are created. It was noted that along with the development of this area, it is necessary to protect the traditional crafts of the population. Thus, beekeeping and lemon growing are well-developed in the region. Their development is essential for the preservation of the local ecosystem.
