On November 11, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Baku on a working visit.

The Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov and other officials met the President of Uzbekistan at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

The President of Uzbekistan will also hold several meetings with heads of foreign states and international organizations.

As part of COP29, the Uzbekistan delegation will organize high-level events dedicated to the fight against land degradation and desertification, environmental education development, and youth’s role in promoting the climate agenda.

More than 20 side events are planned to be held at the specially created National Pavilion of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including those on solving the socio-ecological problems of the Aral Sea region, developing a green economy, introducing renewable energy and water-saving technologies, ensuring food security, preserving biodiversity, and others.
