Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to the press service of the head of our state, the Leader of Uzbekistan cordially congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on his birthday, sincerely wishing him good health, wellbeing and great success, as well as peace and prosperity to the fraternal Turkmen people.
The current issues of cooperation and regional interaction were considered.
It was noted that thanks to regular and fruitful contacts at the highest level, the friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership between the two countries continue to progressively strengthen.
The importance of continuing joint efforts to increase the trade turnover, deepening cooperation in industry, energy, agriculture, transport and other sectors, and intensifying cultural and humanitarian exchange was emphasized. The key role of the Intergovernmental Commission in promoting new cooperation projects was noted.
The Presidents dwelt on the issues of organizing the next Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia this year in Turkmenistan. An agreement was reached on the thorough preparation of the program of the upcoming multilateral event.
The Leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan also exchanged views on the international agenda and discussed the development of the military-political situation in Afghanistan, including in the bordering northern provinces of this country.
The conversation between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan took place in a traditionally warm, friendly and business atmosphere.
