The President of Uzbekistan congratulates the Leader of Belarus on the Presidential election victory

During a telephone conversation on January 27, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on his convincing victory in the country’s presidential elections, which took place the previous day.

The President of Uzbekistan emphasized that the high voter turnout and election results reaffirmed the firm trust of the Belarusian people in their incumbent President, as well as the broad support for his political course and socio-economic reforms.

The discussion also addressed key issues related to further developing a multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Belarus, particularly in implementing agreements reached during President Lukashenko’s visit to Uzbekistan on February 7-9 last year.

In 2024, bilateral trade turnover exceeded $700 million. The parties underscored the importance of accelerating industrial cooperation projects in various economic sectors, strengthening business and interregional ties, and expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Belarus also reviewed the agenda of upcoming joint events.
