On January 27, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, who visits Uzbekistan as part of the next round of Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan political consultations.

Minister Rashid Meredov conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The discussions focused on developing and strengthening friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

The dynamic growth of trade turnover was noted with satisfaction, surpassing $1.1 billion in 2024. Work is underway to establish the Shavat – Dashoguz cross-border trade zone jointly.
