The President of Uzbekistan notes the importance of deepening inter-parliamentary interaction with Turkmenistan

Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, the current issues of further strengthening friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan were considered.

The development of fruitful inter-parliamentary dialogue, including in a regional format, was noted with satisfaction.

The President of Uzbekistan sincerely congratulated the Turkmen side on the successful holding of several major international events – the first Inter-Parliamentary Forum and the meeting of the Dialogue of Women of the Central Asian states and Russia on 12-13 May this year in Ashgabat.

The proposal to hold the forum regularly, with the organization of a permanent secretariat, was supported.

Views were exchanged on the international agenda, issues of continuing close regional interaction and developing productive cooperation within the framework of multilateral organizations, including on promoting peace and security, as well as the economic recovery of Afghanistan.
