The President of Uzbekistan over the telephone congratulated the President of Tajikistan on victory in elections

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, reports IA “Dunyo” correspondent.

As the Press Service of the President of Uzbekistan informs, the head of our state cordially congratulated Emomali Rahmon on his convincing victory in the presidential elections and wished every success in his activities for the benefit and wellbeing of the fraternal people of Tajikistan.

Current aspects in the bilateral relations of friendship, good neighbourliness and strategic partnership were discussed during the conversation.

The sides noted especially the importance of timely practical realization of the agreements reached by two leaders, the implementation of decisions of the Intergovernmental Commission and the elaboration of a new agenda for forthcoming high-level meetings.

The talk served also to exchange views on issues of regional interaction.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon welcomed the adoption of Joint Statement by the Heads of State of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan on the situation in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Toward the end of the telephone conversation, the parties underlined shared commitment to the development of long-term and full-scale cooperation between our two countries.

The dialogue took place in a traditionally warm, open and friendly spirit.
